HEATHER STEWART

Heather Stewart  Bmus(hons), AmusA, Grad Dip, MA (pedagogy), combines her performing, touring and recording career with a specialised violin and voice music teaching practice. Heather is an Australian professional musician based 80km south of Paris, in Seine et Marne, France.

 
Heather's music lessons include a broad range of repertoire and resources; listening, exploring, dancing, game play, imitation, improvising, and integrating principles and techniques from classical and jazz pedagogy. Heather has written and directed two string programs in Australia for Melbourne Girls Grammar School and Sacred Heart school integrating improvisation with classical technique and repertoire to encourage self-motivated students. She believes encouraging individual students to develop and lead their own learning to be a key element in motivation and skill development. In 2009 Heather completed a Masters of Arts on this pedagogy. Heather's methodology includes classical technique, improvisation, game play, and a broad range of repertoire taught with sheet music and aurally. Music lessons with Heather include violin lessons, éveil, professional vocal training and a children's english choir. Musical influences include jazz, blues, folk fiddle, Improvisation, aural training, songwriting, and harmony instruction. Lessons start with beginners to advanced musicians. Heather works as a vocal coach to professional musicians and for vocal album recordings.
